KSEA introduction
Korean-American Scientists and Engineers Association (KSEA) was
established in 1971 as a non-profit professional organization and has grown
to over 3000 registered members with 67 local Chapters (including four
Branches) and 14 technical groups across the United States.
KSEA Sacramento Valley Chapter (SVC) was revived in 2006 in
order to satisfy the demands of the scientists and engineers in the
Sacramento Area. As of November 2008, 42 engineering, scientific
professionals, and graduate students are members and actively participate
in KSEA SVC.
KSEA-SVC also works very closely with the Korean Graduate
Students Association at the University
of California, Davis.
They are always available to help out when SVC hosts conferences and
the National Math and Science Competition (NMSC).
As part of local outreach, KSEA-SVC has also created an
undergraduate student chapter at University
of California, Davis.
Undergraduates do not pay dues and do not have certain voting
privileges as regular and graduate student members. They are planning to send a couple of
students to the Young Generation Technical Leadership Conference (YGTLC
2009) in Dallas. This is a special conference for 1.5-2.0
generation Korean-Americans.
