What is Korean American Service Day and why should I participate?
On Saturday, October 17, 2015, join hundreds of Korean Americans with their families and friends in supporting our communities by volunteering with local community organizations across the country.
How do I sign up to volunteer?
Just browse our list of volunteer opportunities and register for an event in your city with one of our partner organizations.
Is this event open to non-Korean Americans?
Of course! Korean American Service Day is open to all family and friends. We urge everyone to participate in this event!
Can I bring family and friends with me?
All family and friends are welcome but please be sure to register each participant who joins you. Please also ensure you review the restrictions for each event to ensure everyone meets the volunteer requirements.
How can I help support KA Service Day more?
Please encourage your family and friends to join. Also, if you know about any organizations which might want to partner with us and participate, let us know. Finally, please see our Donate page for more ways to support KA ServiceDay.
Do I need to have an e-mail address to register?
Yes. We will use your e-mail address to identify you and send you important information about the event and any opportunities you sign up for. We promise to not use your email for any purposes unrelated to this event.
What kinds of events are available to volunteers?
We worked with numerous community organizations across several cities to identify a wide variety of volunteer opportunities which take place at various times and locations and require different commitment levels. Most importantly, our opportunities meet critical needs across the cities, allowing you to work with children, adults and seniors on opportunities ranging from food pantries and education to outdoor restoration projects. To learn more about our volunteer opportunities, see the list of volunteer events.
What should I wear and bring with me to the volunteer event?
Some events may have specific requirements (please carefully review the details listed for each event) but in general, you should wear comfortable closed-toe footwear, dress appropriately for the weather, and avoid wearing any loose jewelry. Since available storage at many volunteer sites is minimal, it is strongly recommended that you bring few personal items with you.
